A study from the BI Norwegian Business School shows that leaders with good soft skills produce profits that are on average 38% higher, along with the most sales and the best customer service.
Unfortunately, these leaders are a rarity.
Plenty of people think their bosses are ineffective and are rarely motivated by them. Simon Mitchell, the author of a report that surveyed 1300 workers around the world believes that their findings should be of enormous concern.
Leaders’ poor soft skills are taking a bite out of the bottom line, whether through employee disengagement—40% of the employees had left a job because of poor leadership, or poor productivity—respondents felt they would be up to 60% more productive working for a great boss.
Mitchell concluded:
Leaders are failing in their obligation to employees and, therefore, their organisation
Time for some leadership training anyone?
