The narcissist operates on an entirely different level to others, leaving those in their wake confused, undermined, and wasting time and energy trying to rationalise the irrational.
The problem with this Downward Focus syndrome is that those on the receiving end are usually not aware of the roots of it, and continue trying to deal with the situation without fully understanding it.
If you find yourself frequently disorientated by a colleague – or someone closer to home – stop trying to work it out…instead, check out the literature.
It may shine a light on the situation.
I must go take a look in the mirror to see if I agree with myself about this :-)
